Gurulyov: "Kazakhs are next after Ukrainians. The decision is taken."

Andrey Gurulyov, a deputy of the 8th State Duma for the ruling "United Russia" faction and a former deputy Commander of the Southern Military District of the Russian military, stated lately: "Kazakhs are next after Ukrainians. The decision is taken."

Why Kazakhstan? Does it mean that Europe can relax?

Russia desperately needs Kazakhstan, the largest producer of uranium, accounting for 43% of global production and possessing the biggest Uranium reserves—13% of global reserves. Russia is also mentioned among the major Uranium producers, but Russia processes Kazakh Uranium as Russia does not have its own Uranium deposits. Russia is afraid that it can lose access to Kazakhstan's fields.

Recently to increase the reserves of Uranium, a Russia-sponsored coup d'état in Niger - one of the major producers of Uranium, which led to the expulsion of the West from the country.

But why Russia so desperately needs Uranium?

Putin's ambitions in Russia's economic and military development depend on Uranium.
