What is happening in the Caribbean right now is a new paradigm war between the US and Russia. Lavrov’s daring statements show that the Russians are sure they are winning; when they feel they are starting to lose, the tone of their political declarations becomes more conciliatory.
Tropical storm, potential Hurricane Melissa is forming and could become the most significant hurricane in US history, due to the heat stored in the Caribbean, generated in advance by Russian autonomous nuclear-powered heat generators, as I wrote about earlier.
The biggest question now is where Melissa will move? Is this a North East direction toward the Atlantic witch won't affect the US territory, or will it move into the Gulf to make landfall in Florida or another state?
As the cold front is about to cover the Gulf of Mexico, the hurricane doesn’t have a chance to move there, as cold front works as a wall.
The previous cold fronts managed to redirect all previous hurricanes—Erin, Humberto, and Imelda — into the Atlantic, thus protecting the US territory.
As I explained in my January 2025 article on Russian geophysical warfare, Russians intentionally use the disruption of the polar vortex as a weapon to provoke a cold front that could freeze the US (and Europe), or to provoke a massive tornado outbreak, as happened in December 2021, days before Putin issued an ultimatum to NATO.
Then, the massive winter three-state tornado outbreak, provoked by the collision of contrasting-temperature hot masses from the Gulf of Mexico, heated by Russian heatwaves, and cold masses from the artificially disrupted polar vortex, was seen by Putin as an ultimate victory of the Russian secret weapons over the West and a harbinger of Russian world dominance.
But the same polar cold front, caused by a measured disruption of the polar vortex, protects the US East Coast from the massive Atlantic hurricanes intensified by Russian nuclear-powered heaters, and this is precisely what happened during this hurricane season. None of the hurricanes made landfall in the US territory, whether on the East or Gulf Coasts.
Polar blast as protection from hurricane landfall
As a result, the US saved hundreds of billions of dollars through these protective measures, which US officials still do not recognize. Last massive Hurricane Helene, which was also intensified by Russians, caused $ 80 billion in immediate losses, with the total rising to $ 250 billion over the following year.
However, the cold front can't keep protecting the US territory forever. There is a risk of desynchronizing as Melissa stalled in place while continuing to grow in size, amplifying - growing in size (Google AI told me that the term wasn’t used before) without intensifying - increasing rotating momentum and moving ahead if large-scale atmospheric steering winds are in place.
The question is: who will outlast whom—cold front Melissa or Melissa cold front? The question is not idle. If Melissa outlasts the cold front, which usually lasts from hours to several days, and if it makes landfall on US territory, it could become a reality. And the longer Melissa will collect the heat stored by Russians in the Caribbean, the more massive and destructive the attack on the US territory will be.
Moreover, polar blasts have significant downsides and costs. A clash between a cold polar front and a warm front causes severe weather inland, including thunderstorms, floods, and tornadoes. Even if the temperature discrepancy between colliding masses during hurricane season is not as pronounced as during winter, the damage it causes is still significant. Therefore, emphasis should be placed on preventing Russians from heating up the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, the Caribbean, and the Gulf, and using special-purpose submarines designed to intensify and redirect the hurricanes, turning them into weapons.
The task is feasible from the engineering point of view, but not a political one, as long as Russia continues its covert climate war and weather wars against the world.

Melissa's course correction
What made Melissa stall? Except for the intent to outlast the cold front, Russians make a course correction to the future hurricane's path as it takes a wrong turn northward into the open ocean. This explains why the second center appeared to redirect Melissa to the Gulf.

As the two centers remain in a tug-of-war, the storm continues to stall, moving at 2 miles per hour. Moving at its turtle speed, Melissa will continue collecting all the heat stored in the Caribbean. And the longer it continues, the deadlier Hurricane Melissa will become.
The oddity of this season is that the heat in the Caribbean not only resides at the surface as usual but also penetrates the sea to the bottom. This is due to the work of Russian heat generators hidden on the seabeds of Russia-friendly countries' internal waters. At the deepest parts of the sea, which are difficult to access, the issue is terrifying meteorologists.
Russia's massive advantage over the US and China
The reason Russians have an upper hand in the covert weather war we can observe in real time is that they prioritize geophysical weapons. At the same time, the US still focuses on developing conventional and nuclear weapons. Russian special submarines specialize in igniting/amplifying/intensifying hurricanes.
At the same time, the US focuses exclusively on monitoring them using simple autonomous, unmanned submarine vehicles and prefers to study them from the air. The reason for Russia's predominance in the geophysical war is its refusal to recognize the existence of geophysical weapons and, therefore, its lack of protection against them.
