A powerful, slow-moving Mediterranean storm system, fueled by an Arctic cold upper-level cutoff low and exceptionally warm sea surface temperatures, has triggered extreme flash floods across Southern and Eastern Europe.
The upper cutoff lows, or s cold drops as they are called in Europe, can be artificially cut off from the jet stream in specific conditions, while the water can be artificially heated. Preconditions for these actions are created by the artificial melting of the Arctic, leading to climate distortion and global warming.
The situation is getting worse due to climate whiplash, a rapid, violent transition between opposing extreme weather states, such as flipping directly from severe drought or wildfire conditions to catastrophic flooding.
Months of intense summer heat and drought bake the soil into a hard, crusty, asphalt-like layer. Instead of absorbing rainwater, the ground repels it.
When the slow-moving #Mediterranean storm system dumps months' worth of rain in a few hours, all the downpour water turns into a flood. Droughts kill off root systems and cause wildfires, causing widespread deforestation.
Without vegetation to naturally slow down and intercept rushing water, mudslides and debris flows become significantly more destructive. Infrastructure designed for historical baselines is failing, being stressed by consecutive, diametrically opposed disasters.
The whiplash, heatwaves, and downpours are directly linked to the jet stream behavior, from buckling to producing upper-cutoff lows, which the Russians learned to weaponize along with other jet stream manipulation techniques as the main feature in Russian #weather warfare.
When the jet stream is blocked by cutoff lows, it gets locked into a stalled position for weeks, creating a prolonged heat dome.
When the block finally breaks, it overcompensates by pulling a deep, cold upper-cutoff low into the same region that suffered from drought, flipping to a tropical-like deluge.
Putin's covert #climate #warfare, due to artificial Arctic melting and global air and water currents distortion, has led to the global average temperature rising by more than 1.1°C. For every 1°C of atmospheric warming, the air can hold roughly 7% more water vapor, which leads to more massive downpours and massive damage.
The combination leads to what the Russians mean by threatening to erase a country from the face of the Earth.
