How Russia's Jet Stream Manipution Redirected Hurricane Lowel

As I wrote, the jet stream and its artificial bending and parting, due to intentional disruptions, play a key role in defining the hurricane's path. Below is a fascinating picture of how a fragment of the jet stream, which was cut off, turned into the main driver of how the situation with hurricanes #Lowell and #Karina developed.

Without this fragment (which could be artificially created by pointedly disrupting the jet stream) turning into a third low-pressure pole between Lowell and Karina, sandwiching the Hawaiian Islands according to the Fujiwhara effect, they should merge with each other in synergy while producing a direct landfall over the sandwiched islands

Had the low-pressure pole been created farther east, it would have rapidly intensified the effect of the merger, turning the resulting hurricane into a deadly weapon.

In the configuration that materialized, the jet stream fragment turned into an upper-level low that dissipated Karina and redirected Lowell northward, brushing off Hawaii without making a direct landfall.

From multiple scenarios, the one that materialized is one of the less destructive ones. Something went wrong with Putin's perfect storm plan.

This is not the first time that the Russians have tried to weaponize the jet stream cut-off low to exploit the Fujiwhara effect to merge two hurricanes into one, maximizing the destruction.

An interesting situation happened during the 2025 hurricane season when two hurricanes, Humberto and Imelda, were to merge in the Fujiwhara effect, while the jet stream's cutoff low over the Carolinas had to play the role of a tugboat for the two merged hurricanes to make a direct landfall over the Carolinas, which would be catastrophic.

Putin's Perfect Storm Plan was destroyed by a high-pressure front, which can also be produced artificially by disrupting the jet stream, as I described in my January, 2025 article. A cold front dissolved the cut-off low, while #Hurricane #Humberto carried away Hurricane #Imelda into the open Atlantic Ocean.

This is the second time I have observed the creative plan to use the jet stream cutoff low to "rapidly intensify" hurricanes' merger with potential catastrophic consequences has failed.

I hope such deadly combinations will continue to fail. However, the Russians learn from the experience, perfect their weather weapons, and will continue weaponizing the jet stream if not stopped.
